Artist Statement:
As an artist working across painting, sculpture, and photography, my practice often takes the
form of bricolage, where I combine these mediums in service of a specific social viewpoint.
Influenced by artists such as Warhol, Wesselman, and Rusha, my work can be seen as having
a "Pop" sensibility with a California/LA vernacular.
My vision is fierce and difficult, where each work becomes a battleground for control of the
psychological, through the reified language of aggression and power. In my art, I aim to present
the frustration experienced by individuals within our collective culture, while also offering a sly
and sweet appreciation of my artistic position. Ultimately, my goal is to use my work to mediate
the differences between these genres and to offer a unique perspective on the social issues that
we face in our world today.
